Cherry Mobile Infinix Pure XL Specs Review: How does it dffer to other octa-core phones?

Cherry Mobile recently announced Infinix Pure XL, its latest phablet offering that frames a 5.5-inch screen real estate with 720p HD resolution.  The device is a promising octa-core device from the local tech giant unveiled in the recent Thanksgiving and Dealers night last December 2. We will be dishing out the features of this Php 6,999 device, so stay with us after the jump.

Design and Construction

The phone has rounded back edges with matte finish and metallic accents on the sides which obviously gave it a premium look from a distance. The growing interest for larger phones causes the industry to produce even more gigantic sizes like Google Nexus 6-incher smartphone. And the 5.5-inch display of the Infinix Pure XL is quite appealing.

The overall aesthetics of the phone looks fine; it actually reminds me of the Nexus 5’s form factor.

Internals

In line with the high resolution screen is the speedy MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor that is clocked in 1.4GHz speed. This CPU is supported by a giga-byte of RAM for smooth interaction across the whole platform.

How does the Cherry Mobile Infinix Pure XL differ from other octa-core phones?

Information about the chipset suggests that the Cherry Mobile Infinix Pure XL is using the MediaTek MT6592 “True Octa-Core” which uses energy efficient cores away from the popular big.LITTLE technology. This SoC also maintains the right blend of temperature and power consumption so that the device will deliver the optimum performance without overheating the central processing module.

In short, it packs the right combination of processors that deliver high and efficient performance, for fast and smooth experience.

Camera

Across the board, the Cherry Mobile Infinix Pure XL has an 8GB of internal memory with expandable storage via microSD. It also sports 13MP and 2MP rear and selfie cameras, respectively, giving a capable pointing-and-shooting experience for its users. There’s also Android KitKat and 2600mAh battery to power the handheld.

The Wrap

Plethora of smartphones coming in once in a while delivering similar feature set - larger HD screens, octa-core processors and Android KitKat. These devices flood the local market and we could hardly see anything revolutionary anymore. The Cherry Mobile Infinix Pure XL is not an exception. I guess, choosing a device is just a matter of the user’s preferred combination of specs; plus the trade-offs that he or she is willing to accept.
