Huawei releases Ascend W1: Windows Phone 8 handset, 1.2GHz dual-core CPU, 5MP camera, 512MB RAM for Php 8,990

Huawei Phlippines launches its first ever Windows Phone 8 device in the country. The Ascend W1 is an interesting piece of Windows Phone candybar that is strategically priced at Php 8,990! This 4-inch WVGA (480x800p) phone is treated with IPS LCD touchpanel and packs in 233 ppi density.

Despite of the mid-ranger display, it'll still sport an OGS Technology which minimizes light consumption to make screen even more brighter and vivid to the eyes. Ascend W1's core chip is a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon that is clocked with 1.2GHz and paired with an Adreno 30 graphic processor.

Other features includes 512MB of RAM, 4GB internal memory with micro SD support and a 5MP camera (VGA front) for mobile snappers. What surprises me is the fact that it has a 1950 mAh battery - that's 470-hour standby time on paper. It could keep you on the go for an ample amount of time.

Huawei Ascend W1 is a good choice if you want to have a second phone. It's also a good entry to the Windows Phone ecosystem which is now reaching 100,000-app mark.
