Starmobile Engage 7HD announced: 7-inch 1280 x 800p display, 1.2GHz dual-core and ICS at Php 7990

One of the great things of having local brands competing in mobile industry is the rainpour of affordable devices with specifications that is comparable to premium brands, and Starmobile has the one best offerings in the 7-incher department.

The new Starmobile Engage 7HD boasts a stunning 7-inch IPS HD display with a pixel count of 1280 x 800p. If you're very particular about the screen quality of your device, then this could one of the alternatives that you could consider that will offer you wider angle viewing, crisp visuals and better image quality.

The slate poses a great threat for CM Superion Plus Duo. But unlike the latter, Engage 7HD does not have a phone-capability. The lack of bluetooth connectivity also makes it a bit of a bummer. It's one of the feature that I would like this tablet to have since, first it a must-have for an Android device and second it's older brother, Engage 7, doesn't have one.

However, compared to the other premium brands like Nexus 7 and iPad mini, Engage 7HD is way more affordable in Php 7990. In that price, you can have a 1.2 GHz dual-core tab designed with an aluminum finish. Looking on the device itself makes you think that it's in the Galaxy Tab line.

Aside from the Bluetooth shortcomings, Starmobile is generous in other connectivity options. You can even slide your 3.5G dongle USB modem on it and enjoy internet access on the go. Check out the rest of the specs below.
