Apple announced 4th Generation iPad: Apple A6X chip, FaceTime HD Camera and Lightning connector

It may have been less than a year since the 3rd Generation iPad was launched but Apple has refreshed the current line-up with they what they call the iPad 4th Generation dubbing it as “just as stunning, twice as fast.” The release of the new flagship slate came from the same Apple event for the iPad mini in California Theatre in San Jose, CA. Before we get anywhere, let’s stick to the specs that you will see after the jump.

Now the 4th Generation iPad wil come with the latest Apple A6X chip that is said to be twice as fast as the previous A5X chip of the 3rd Gen iPad in terms of speed and graphic performance while maintaining the 10 –hour battery life.
When it comes to the snappers, the rear 5MP camera is still in its best maintaining the lead to other tablets. Plus, the rear camera gets tweaked with HD standards to support “FaceTime HD” that we can see in the iPhone 5. Obviously, this comes with a better performance than iPad 3rd Gen’s VGA rating.

I think one of the major reasons why iPad gets bumped is because of the new Lightning connector. This move of Apple to put the Lightning connector in the latest iPad somewhat seals their latest connector in all of their mobile devices.

Connectivity-wise, the new iPad has enhanced WiFi Technology with 2.4GHz/5GHz frequencies and channel bonding.

The 4th Generation iPad will come in White or Black with 16GB (USD 499), 32GB 9USD 599) and 64GB (USD 699) configurations for WiFi-only models. You can also get the 4G LTE models with USD 130 on top of you base prices.
