RIM Philippines starts BlackBerry OS 7.1 update with Bold 9900, rolling out now

Research in Motion (RIM) Philippines nods for the BlackBerry OS 7.1 update in the country after its international counterpart released the said OS update weeks ago. However, this catch is only available for BlackBerry Bold 9900. So other BBMs will have to wait for their GO signal.

This update enables Bold 9900 users to enjoy an NFC feature called the BlackBerry tag that could allow NFC-enabled RIM handsets to share information by tapping the phone against each other. Thus, this also covers the exchange of contacts information, URLs, photo, apps, multimedia contents, etc – all in just one tap!

One impressive feature that has also been highlighted is the mobile internet sharing. This allows the handset to be turned into a mobile hotspot, up to 5 devices. How to update? You can use your BlackBerry Desktop Manager Software by hooking your device to your PC or simply checking the RIM update page. We are looking forward to hearing from you about how this OS treats your BlackBerry.
