Galaxy Nexus slash Google Nexus Prime: Rumored Specs Round-Up

We’re just days away from the “Google Episode” unpacked event by Samsung and Google, and it has also been confirmed that the event will stage the unveiling of the Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) OS. Plus, it will also announce the flagship phone of Google, the Galaxy Nexus or some may call it the Google Nexus Prime. We can never deny the fact that Android geeks all over the world could hardly wait for the real specs of this new Droid-Phone. Just to give you a heads-up about what to expect with our new star, these are the most recent leakages that crawled all over the net recently.

Rumored Specs 1

These hardware specs came from a “trusted source” of BRG which tells us  that it would sport a luckluster processor that is only clocked at 1.2 GHz. Plus the not-so-impressive camera is such an eye sore in the specs. See it for yourself:
    Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
    4.65-inch 1280 x 720-pixel
Super AMOLED HD with curved glass
TI OMAP 4460 dual-core Cortex A9 processor clocked at 1.2GHz
    1GB of RAM
    32GB of built-in storage
5-megapixel camera on the back, 1.3-megapixel in the front
    1080p HD video capture support
    LTE/HSPA depending on carrier
    Wi-Fi a/b/g/n
    NFC
    1,750 mAh battery
    9mm thin

Rumored Specs 2

Good thing this one came out. It abated all the fan’s tension about the previous specs. This set was released by GSMArena who claims to have an exclusive information about the device. The only thing that this specs agree with the previous is the 4.65 inch AMOLED HD running at 1280 x 720. So I guess that settles the screen size and resolution then? But take a look on the rest of the details below:
1.5GHz dual-core processor, most likely Exynos
PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU (the same one that's in the iPad 2)
8MP rear shooter with 1080p video capture
    2050mAh battery
    Global-ready

Okay, the second one seems like the “Google Nexus Prime” to me. I think we’ll just have to wait and see, but let the "which is which" issue roll for now. So are you geeks excited? Sound off in the comments bar!

Update: The date has been screwed up. Samsung and Google just announced in an almost-last-minute notice that they won’t be releasing a new the ICS and the Galaxy Nexus soon. Tsk tsk…I guess the long wait is not that long enough.

“Samsung and Google decide to postpone the new product announcement at CTIA Fall. We agree that it is just not the right time to announce a new product. New date and venue will be shortly announced.”
