What a day to start with Samsung! For all you music geeks out there, Samsung has just realized that it’s the high time to release an “Android iPod”. Well, they’ve just named it as Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 and 5.0 respectively; and the rest of the post is cellular free.
The gadgets has been infused with Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread), seems like the best thing that TouchWiz would offer (setting aside the Galaxy S II). Player 5.0 and 4.0 weighs 6.4 and 4,2 ounces respectively; includes 802.11 b/g/n, WVGA Super Clear LCD (800 x 400), front and rear cameras, bluetooth, 3.5 mm headphone jack, voice recorder and mini USB connectivity.
The pre-order will start September 27 and US release is on October 2. Prices will hit $229 (PHP 9700) for Player 4.0 and $269 (PHP 11 400). No release date yet in Asia Pacific. See the Specs below.
