Ice Cream Sandwich is just on its way, but Android’s next OS update has been rumored as “Jelly Bean”. This is to continue Google’s nomenclature of its OS update named after sweets/ desserts.
Poor me, I’ve just realized that these names were not randomly picked, but they are named alphabetically instead. Just to give you the proof here is the list of past Android Update:
o Éclair (2.0 and 2.1)
o Froyo (2.2)
o Gingerbread (2.3)
o Honeycomb (3.0, 3.1 and 3.2)
o Ice Cream Sandwich (Google has yet to say what the version would be)
o Jelly Bean
Jelly Bean would comprise “game-changing stuff” that has not pushed through the in upcoming Ice Cream Sandwich; the features are yet to be unveiled. Upon its publicity, ICS has been said to be the unifying factor of the tablets and smartphones (which has been presently Gingerbread and Honeycomb).
The next OS has said to offer major architectural, functional and design changes over the ICS. So this means that ICS won’t be spending too much time with us unlike its predecessor. Furthermore, update has it that Jelly Bean seems to be a solid choice for the next OS name due to slim choices among the desserts that start with “J”.
How about you? What “J” sweets or dessert would likely be the next Android OS? Hit me up in the comments section many times.
